Abstract:
White hydrogen—naturally occurring geologic hydrogen—is gaining momentum as a clean energy source. Recent discoveries in Albania, France, Mali, and the U.S. underscore its global potential. This presentation explores subsurface mechanisms, drilling strategies, and key geologic formations hosting hydrogen reserves. Special focus is given to tectonic settings, ultramafic rock zones, and rift basins favorable for hydrogen generation. The talk highlights emerging exploration efforts, regulatory frameworks, and the role of hydrogen in national energy strategies.
