Abstract:
This presentation will begin by defining what constitutes adverse weather and its potential impact on offshore project delivery. We will then examine how adverse weather should be considered when developing a project programme to ensure realistic timelines. The discussion will highlight how contracts typically address adverse weather, including relevant clauses and obligations. Attention will be given to commercial and contract management aspects, with a focus on dispute avoidance and resolution. We will also explore the mechanisms available for contractual suspension in cases of severe weather disruption. The session aims to provide practical insights into integrating weather considerations into project planning and contract management. Ultimately, the objective is to equip participants with strategies to mitigate risks and maintain project resilience in the face of adverse weather.
